At The Nerds of Color, Al and Keith discussed the need for more diversity in Hollywood, the creation of the AMC martial arts epic Into the Badlands, and Al’s experience working with Hong Kong cinema superstars like Jackie Chan and Jet Li. For DC TV Classics, the two of them take a deep dive into the history of Smallville, The CW show that kicked off the network’s current superhero boom. What happens when you get a villain from the future that has the information that you need to stop a villainous speedster? Barry Allen will have to deal with that question on the next episode of The Flash in “Abra Kadabra” as The CW released photos and the trailer for 3.18 which will feature the debut of the DC character with the same name as the episode.

On Tuesday, March 21 at 9 PM PST, the two podcasts will come together for a special live show, following the musical crossover on between The Flash and Supergirl.  The live show will be hosted at Mixlr.com/DCTVPodcasts where hosts of both shows will be discussing the big musical event.

January 31, 2017 (Burbank, CA) ─ Award-winning songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul have penned an original song entitled “Runnin’ Home to You” for THE FLASH/SUPERGIRL musical episode. Grant Gustin will perform the song in THE FLASH episode entitled “Duet,” airing Tuesday, March 21, 8:00-9:00 pm ET/PT on The CW.

In addition to “Runnin’ Home to You,” THE FLASH episode will feature another original song penned by CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND star and executive producer Rachel Bloom and Tom Root, entitled “Superfriends.”

Pasek and Paul are the Oscar/Tony/Emmy-nominated songwriting team behind the Broadway musicals Dear Evan Hansen, A Christmas Story, The Musical and Dogfight. The duo penned the lyrics for the award-winning song “City of Stars” from the film “La La Land,” which was awarded a Golden Globe for Best Original Song, a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Original Song and a Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Music for “La La Land.” Pasek and Paul have also received two Oscar nominations, one for “City of Stars” and a second for “Audition (The Fools Who Dream),” both from “La La Land.” Feature film credits include “Trolls,” “The Greatest Showman” and “Medusa.”   Their songs have also been featured on “Smash,” “Sesame Street” and “Johnny and the Sprites.”

“Benj and Justin are the premiere song-writing duo of our time,” said Andrew Kreisberg, Executive Producer for THE FLASH and SUPERGIRL. “Not only are they two of the most talented people Greg and I have ever met, they are also two of the nicest. To have them be a part of our musical episode is beyond our wildest expectations. We hope everyone falls in love with the song they wrote for us as much as we did.”

The Flash 3.12 “Untouchable” Promo & Stills

Next week is going to be quite deadly on The Flash with a dangerous meta-human coming after the Wests! The CW has debuted a new trailer as well as episode stills for 3.12 titled “Untouchable” which you can see below.

THE TOUCH OF DEATH – Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team at S.T.A.R. Labs work together to bring down Clive Yorkin (guest star Matthew Kevin Anderson), a criminal meta-human who is methodically killing people by causing them to decompose at an accelerated rate. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) becomes his next target but it’s Iris (Candice Patton) who is caught in the crossfire. The Flash mentors Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) and begins to elevate the newer speedster’s training to another level.

The Flash 3.13 “Attack On Gorilla City” Synopsis

What happens when you have not one, but two intelligent meta-gorillas that gets you stuck in a literal Gorilla City? Well the Flash peeps are going to find out on February 21 as The CW released a description for episode 13 called “Attack on Gorilla City” which will act as part 1 of 2 in the Gorilla Grodd arc that is coming.

BARRY AND TEAM TRAVEL TO GORILLA CITY AND FACE GRODD – When Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) informs the team that her father (Tom Cavanagh) has been abducted, Barry (Grant Gustin), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Julian (Tom Felton) voyage to Earth-2 on a rescue mission to save Harry from Gorilla City. As they trek through the forest, Barry and the team are immediately captured and brought to Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov). Grodd tells them he needs their help to stop Solovar (voiced by Keith David), the leader of Gorilla City, as Solovar wants to invade Earth-1. Meanwhile, back on Earth-1, Jesse and Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) hit the streets to stop a metahuman that can control gravity, with H.R. and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) guiding them from S.T.A.R. Labs. In this episode, Barry Allen reveals to the team about the future that he saw where Iris West gets murdered by Savitar. With this knowledge, the team begins to do whatever they can to make sure that future doesn’t happen. In the news session, the trio talks about the new details that have come out about the musical crossover with Supergirl, including the news that Glee’s Darren Criss has been cast as Music Meister. DC TV Classics 08 – “What the Hellblazer Happened to Constantine”: DC TV Classics returns to discuss the brief short-lived NBC series Constantine, based on the classic Vertigo comic Hellblazer. Even though it was canceled after one season, Matt Ryan’s instantly iconic portrayal of John Constantine has led to a guest appearance on Arrow and the show’s resurrection as an animated series on CW Seed. Keith, Britney, and Desiree share their thoughts on why the show only lasted 13 episodes, its erasure of the lead character’s sexuality, and whether the show fits into The CW’s DC TV Universe.

DC Films Podcast – Episode 25 “Black Adam Movie & Green Lantern Corps Shortlist”: The whole gang’s here, folks!! This week, we address a rumor concerning the return of Jared Leto’s Joker and the cryptic pictures he has been posting on social media lately. Could we be seeing the Joker sooner than we think? Possibly. Is Jared Leto extremely attractive? DEFINITELY. (Sorry, Jess is writing this.) In other news, it has been officially announced that Black Adam will have his own movie, this after Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had been cast in the role for the Shazam! movie. Looks like we’ve got a lot of DC films to look forward to. Speaking of which, Green Lantern Corps is slated to be released in 2020, but a casting shortlist for Hal Jordan has already been released. The list consists of Armie Hammer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Bradley Cooper, Joel McHale, Tom Cruise, and Ryan Reynolds. Who do you think should be cast as Hal Jordan? The hosts let us in on their thoughts. They also discuss the writers for Green lantern Corp, David Goyer (Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman) and Justin Rhodes (Contract Killers…yeah I’ve never heard of it either). The Flash Podcast Special Edition – Season 4, TCA 17 News & More: Happy 2017! On a new special edition (as well as the first one for 2017) episode of The Flash Podcast, your hosts Andy Behbakht and Brittany Rivera get together to go through all the big news that have been coming about The Flash Season 3 in the past few weeks. A lot of news came out from the CW’s Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour day, including the early renewal for all the DC TV shows. In addition to that, the gang discusses the following news items that have been coming out in the past couple of weeks, along with their speculations:

-Music Meister will officially be the villain for musical crossover between this show and Supergirl!

-The Black Flash is set to appear on multiple DC TV shows this spring.

-Keith David will be voicing DC Comics’ Solovar in the 2-part Gorilla Grodd storyline.

-Robbie Amell and Rick Cosnett are returning as Ronnie Raymond and Eddie Thawne, but how?

-The CW is bringing all four DC TV shows to PaleyFest, Los Angeles, on March 18!

-A new extended trailer for the mid-season premiere has been released!
